%TOC% ---+ DBG/400 - Free software for the AS/400 / iSeries This is the home page for my !DataBase Generation utilities, aka DBG/400. ---++ News You'll find the latest news/updates on the NewsPage (%REVINFO{topic="NewsPage" format="$date"}%). ---++ DBG/400 DBG/400 was the first main tool I created, hence the name for the site. It consists of a number of integrated utilities that help in setting up and maintaining an environment (library, files, data areas and data) suitable for testing your applications. Read the full details on [[http://www.dbg400.net/dbg400.html][DBG/400]] ---++ Extras I've a number of miscellaneous tools, including [[http://www.dbg400.net/usroutq.html][WRKUSROUTQ]], [[http://www.dbg400.net/extras.html#prgoutq][PRGOUTQ]], [[http://www.dbg400.net/movoutq.html][MOVOUTQ]], [[http://www.dbg400.net/chklvls.html][CHKLVLCHK]], [[http://www.dbg400.net/excsql.html][EXCSQL]] and [[http://www.dbg400.net/crtcsv.html][CRTCSVDTA]] that are available for download. There's also a list of other utilities that could be made available if the interest is there. Have a look at these [[http://www.dbg400.net/extras.html][extras]]. I've also set up a page for [[http://www.dbg400.net/samples.html][Usenet and mailing lists]] code samples relating to posts I've made. ---++ About me I'm Martin Rowe, a Senior Analyst/Programmer with [[http://www.moores.co.uk][Moores]] a large UK furniture manufacturer where I've been since 1992. Prior to that I worked for a software house in the Midlands, where I started my AS/400 career (back in 1990). I'm married with two young children (Ben, nine and Heather, seven). If you're interested, have a look at our (rather out-of-date) [[http://jamaro.org.uk][family album]] and more recent pictures (though not yet with many comments) on my [[http://jamaro.homelinux.org][home server]]. My family absorbs most of my spare time (kids have way of doing that ;-) ), but I occasionally manage to get away to my two local Linux User Groups: West Yorkshire [[http://www.wylug.org.uk][WYLUG]] and York [[http://www.york.lug.org.uk][YLUG]]. ---++ Mailing list There isn't a specific mailing list for DBG/400 - just email me direct if you have specific questions/comments. For notification of new utilities or updates to existing content, consider [[%TWIKIWEB%.TWikiRegistration][registering]] with this site and adding your name to the WebNotify page. There is a list for Open Source Software on the AS/400 / iSeries where you'll find updates and announcements on these and other utilities available from a wide range of OSS projects. The list also serves as a platform for discussion on licensing issues, project ideas, and anything else (on topic) related to iSeries OSS. Joining is easy: just head on over to the handy subscription page over at [[http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/oss400][Midrange.com - OSS400]]. Do join in and get involved :-) ---++ Feedback If you find something of interest on this site, or have ideas for making it more useful, please let [[%MAINWEB%.MartinRowe][me]] know. I would really appreciate it if you [[%TWIKIWEB%.TWikiRegistration][registered]] on this site, and added a few details about yourself on your TWiki homepage. If you can upload a picture of yourself, or your home or local landscape even better. More details on the FeedBack page. ---++ Credits * A big thanks to my boss for allowing me to publish this in the first place :-) * John Ross of http://www.netshare400.com for providing me with a free AS/400 account available over the Internet. See more details on my [[http://www.dbg400.net/netshare.html][NetShare400 page]]. * David George of 400times.co.uk for reviewing (favourably :-) ) DBG/400 in his excellent AS/400 e-zine - sadly a victim of too much to do and too little time, now no longer updated. * I've used some of Tom Liotta's free commands in some of my utilities - Thanks, Tom :-) Check out his 'Sharea' site http://zap.to/tl400 * http://twiki.org for providing such an excellent platform for web content development. * ...there are more individuals and organisations I'm grateful to, for producing excellent software and/or for providing great web resources. Hopefully I'm giving something back via the site. See the following links page for them and more. ---++ Links ...are on the LinksPage. Let me know of any other sites you think should be mentioned here. ---++ Site map SiteMap has links to the top-level (or entry) pages of the site. The full list of pages in the DBG400 TWiki can be found through the WebIndex. This site's static pages are listed on the 'old' [[http://www.dbg400.net/sitemap.html][Site map]] ---++ Privacy Policy Concerned about privacy - see the PrivacyPolicy. -- Main.MartinRowe - 10 Jun 2005
